Total Underground solutions worked with Jemena on their Rapid Earth Fault Current Limiter (REFCL) Program – Bushfire Mitigation Plan

Here are some key facts about Jemena’s largest ever single project with a cost of approximately $50m.

  • Burying of High Voltage cabling in Green Wedge Zoned Areas as part of the REFCL Program.
  • As part of the ‘project’ TUS installed 23km of underground electrical conduits from Coolaroo to Kalkallo.
  • Works took place in Culturally Sensitive environments as well as through urban developments.
  • Horizontal Directional Drill completed underneath various major roads was required as part of these upgrade works.
